With Shroud garnering over 120k viewers, it’s easy to see why this game has gotten the player count it currently has. Each pro has already experimented with the games settings and all have a unique setup for their Apex Legends settings.

Apex Legends Backstory

The year is unknown but the game takes place in the far reaches of space  known as the Frontier. The Apex Legends game is following a hundred year war between the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) and the Militia.

Following the war, the IMC has since departed and in doing so, left the Frontier in shambles leaving what’s left of the Militia to fend for themselves.

With the Frontier war torn and broken, many have moved to a remote cluster called the Outlands. Lawless and rife with opportunity, the new worlds show promise. With opportunity comes danger and corruption. Differences of opinion used to be settled in the street. Now, the brave Legends enter the ‘Arena’ to settle disputes.

Where fame is obtained, money is earned, power is ensnared, mortality is tested and immortality is awarded (to the lucky surviving few).

What Makes Apex Legends Different?

Apex Legends is a hybrid of Fortnite and PUBG. The premise is the same, albeit it being with slightly less players. In Apex Legends, 60 people drop onto a map called the Kings Canyon. The map gives you a good variety of terrains, urban developments and abandoned outposts.

You work in squads of 3 (20 teams total) and battle it out in a Battle Royale format. Similar to other BR games, Apex Legends utilizes an enclosing, damaging circle to force players to congregate as the match progresses.

Apex Legends differs in that you select a ‘Legend’ or a character model that has unique skills. There is a weapon specialist, medic, tracker, wraith, shield specialist and more. Each have their pros and cons and building a squad around these skill sets can give your team an unique advantage. This differs from Fortnite and PUBG were “all players are equal”.

There is no building like Fortnite but there is definitely more item and functionality then PUBG. Apex Legends gives PUBG players a ‘realistic’ BR game that has more dynamics while also giving Fornite players a BR that is a bit less ‘arcadey’.
