What is Player Unkowns Battleground (PUBG)?

PUBG is a realistic, first person shooter, multiplayer battle royal game. While it might not be the first of it’s genre it is arguably the first that found mass appeal and paved the way for other Battle Royale Successes like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Spellbreak, Mordhau and more. 

The game is has been played and is still played by some of the biggest streamer names out there. Shroud, ChocoTaco, DrDisrespect, Tfue, Ninja, AndyPryo, Kaymind and many others can be found streaming PUBG regularly. 

PUBG Basics – Get to Know the Game

The game is the brain child of ex- DayZ and Arma devs and takes a realistic approach with actual guns and attachments, vehicles, player movements and physics. 

The game starts with 100 players in an airplane over a massive 8×8 KM map called Erangel.  There has since been 3 more maps added; Miramar, Sanhok and Vikendi. 

Once you parachute down and land in your desired location, it’s a mad scramble to find guns, armor and any nearby enemies. Strategies aplenty, you can hot drop and get right into the action or take a more conservative approach and avoid gunfights that may not be advantageous to you. There’s no right or wrong way to play PUBG, which helps appeal to a mass audience. 

The ultimate goal, as with other Battle Royales is to be the last man, Duo Squad or Team standing and get that coveted “Chicken Dinner”.
