This weekend saw quite a bit of drama explode in Apex Legends. The Iron Crown event has brought new content to King’s Canyon. However, drama over community feedback aside, there is a lot on offer for players. If you want to get everything you have to fight against the rewards system geared to get you to pay. If you can preserve long enough though, you can get a lot of rewards in the Iron Crown event.
There are challenges in the game, and specifically in the new Gauntlet area of the map, and in the newest addition to the game; Solo mode. Completing these challenges will give you crowns. You can use these crowns to buy cosmetic items exclusive to the event! If you don’t use all of them by the end of the event, they revert into regular currency.
Some challenges are going to be pretty easy and others are going to take some work. This guide will you run through how to complete all the challenges in the iron Crown event.
Keep in mind, that the length of this event isn’t giving much time to do all of this. Respawn has apologized both for the outbursts and the overly aggressive monetization in Apex Legends. While this would on the surface appear to be good news, most people don’t bank on EA following up an apology for microtransactions with any sort of solution. The weekend’s events may have been dramatic, but we’re not likely to get a repeat of the Battlefront 2 debacle anytime soon.
You have until August 27th to redeem your loot box rewards for actual skins. With these bad odds in mind, here’s how you can get the most out of it.
Apex Legends Iron Crown Challenges
There are currently six tasks that you can complete to earn Crowns.
Top 5 Finish in a Solo Match – This one shouldn’t be too difficult if you’re willing to play quite a few games. The jury is still out on how well Solo mode works, so take advantage of the relative chaos at this early stage.
Acquire 50 Kills. If you have good aim in Apex Legends this one shouldn’t be too hard to do. You might be better off attempting this in the traditional Squads mode than the new Solo mode. Clusters of players are better targets than individuals.
Complete 20 Daily Challenges. Yeah, good luck with this. This one is actually going to be pretty difficult but it will depend on which daily challenges you have.
Finish Octane’s Gauntlet Ring of Fire While Wearing Armour. This challenge is going to give you a bit of trouble. Think of it more like a section in a non-shooter game, you’re going to get good at it by repetition.
Deal 25,000 Damage. This Iron Crown task should be achievable in the process of getting 50 kills or finishing in the top in Solo mode.
Earn 9,000 XP. The bulk of this should be taken care of by finishing the other challenges, but it may be difficult to get it all in before Aug 27.
If you want to finish all of these challenges, then you need to be playing apex Legends the best that you can. This is easier when you’re using the right Apex Legends settings and getting the best frames per second possible in the game.
