Call of Duty as a franchise has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Warzone has been a big boost for the series, and a new game is coming to be coming out very soon. Call of Duty Vanguard is an upcoming game that has had a few leaks recently. Since then, something has been added into Warzone that has given us a lot of new information. We’re going to be getting some more information about the game and when it’s due to come out. Unlike some past games, we’ve had a decent number of leaks and teases to see what’s coming up soon.
As a yearly series, it takes a lot to keep Call of Duty fresh.. Both of the last Call of Duty games have been a big success, with Modern Warfare and Cold War both feeling unique. The next title will be releasing this year, so what exactly do we know about it so far?
Call of Duty Vanguard Leaks in Warzone
While we knew for a while that there would be a Call of Duty release this year and who was handling it, very little had been released. Thanks to some new crossovers with Warzone, we now have more information on Vanguard.
Coming in Warzone Season 5, there is a new victory screen for Call of Duty Warzone that seemingly ties into CoD Vanguard. The cut scene is a Soviet World War II era sniper, in period-accurate clothes and weapons. The overall pose is very recognizable as from a specific period, and one that hasn’t been covered in Call of Duty for a while. This definitely confirms when Vanguard is going to be taking place.
Much like the Cold War reveal, this is another new Call of Duty game that we’re mainly seeing detailed in Warzone first. Aside from this confirmation, we’ve also had some leaked images come out from Call of Duty Vanguard. So, we know how quite a bit about the game is going to work.
What We Know About Vanguard So Far
Call of Duty Vanguard is going to be taking place during the Second World War. This is a fairly familiar setting for the series, with a good number of games taking place there. Most recently, in Call of Duty WWII which was released in 2017. Since then, the games have focused on some other time settings. The series has strong roots in that era of history though.
While the game is going to set during the second world war, there are more settings in play here than in previous outings for Call of Duty. The game is going to be set in all fields of combat during Vanguard, both in Europe, the west and eastern fronts, and the Pacific.
Gameplay
In terms of gameplay, we don’t know too much about all that will make Call of Duty Vanguard unique. However, we can likely say it’ll maintain the stronger loadout focus and other aspects of the series that have become so dominant since the release of Modern Warfare.
The action should be similar to the arcade-style multiplayer modes of Cold War. With Warzone now firmly established, the game is unlikely to intrude on the areas that Warzone currently does better. We can expect smaller and medium-sized maps, team gameplay, and a lot of different weapons. Since this will be part of the Call of Duty League, gameplay for Call of Duty Pro players won’t be changing around too much.
Warzone Reveal Event

We can find out a lot more about Vanguard when It is officially unveiled, which is going to happen in Warzone. Like with Cold War, the Battle Royale game is going to be the source of extra information about the new title. The event that will show off the new title is going to be called the Battle of Verdansk. It will likely be similar to past in-game events, with both gameplay and cinematics.
In terms of the new title, we can expect to see a full reveal during this event. This will probably be a trailer similar to the Call of Duty Cold War reveal. We’ll have to wait a bit longer to get more in-depth details though.
The Warzone Call of Duty Vanguard event is going to be held on August 19th. These are the times it’ll be running at in various time zones:
- ET – 1:30Pm
- GMT – 5:30 PM
- PST – 10:30 AM
- ACT – 3:30 AM
- CET – 7.30 PM
Call of Duty Vanguard Warzone Integration

Call of Duty games since Modern Warfare have all gone through the effort of tying into the Battle Royale Warzone game. Warzone gets maps, an integrated Battle Pass, generally, it becomes just as much a part of the new game cycle as the original. This leads to situations like Warzone’s bloated weapons count. It does also mean a constant stream of new content though. We can expect Warzone to get bits of Vanguard content ahead of release to build anticipation. However, the full crossover will likely be a little while after the game’s launch.
Call of Duty Vanguard Alpha Dates
The Call of Duty Vanguard demo hasn’t been publicly made available yet. However, recent leaks, especially those from Warzone, have revealed that there are going to be alpha dates for the new Call of Duty games. These weekends give a chance for fans to try out the game. However, they’re usually limited by platform and pre-order status.
If you’re looking to play the Call of Duty Vanguard beta, then there are some dates to watch out for. There will likely be the first alpha during August 27-29th, along with August 10-12. These are just for PlayStation players. However, PC early access will likely come soon too.
Call of Duty Vanguard Release Dates
The Call of Duty Vanguard release date is one of the bigger questions that are around for the game. There isn’t a clear release date currently known. Right now, we just know a vague window where Call of Duty usually releases. Typically, they drop around November leading up to the holiday period. This would also make sense for the reveal of the game that we’re getting. This window tends to be pretty successful for Call of duty.
However, while that’s the normal release window it isn’t guaranteed to the timing that we’ll see this time around. They could release Vanguard a little earlier too. November does seem like the safest bet for Call of Duty Vanguard release date though.
What Platforms Will Vanguard Release Date be On?

We don’t quite know when Vanguard will be released, but on what platforms is it coming too? This is part of the information that has now partially leaked. The game is coming to the normal platforms, but a few more than many might have expected. The game is coming to PC which will be great for those who like to play on competitive Call of Duty settings. Although, it’ll also be coming to consoles.
Vanguard loos like it is going to be released on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. However, it also looks like it is coming to PS4 and Xbox one too. This is great news for those who haven’t upgraded on consoles yet, but why are the older generation still being supported? Thanks to the chip shortage, new-gen consoles aren’t being produced or sold at anything close to the rate that manufacturers might like. The user base for the new consoles is still too small to warrant abandoning the old platforms. The game will probably perform best on PC and newer consoles though.
That’s everything we know about Call of Duty Vanguard at the moment. The game will be launching pretty soon. In the meantime though, Call of Duty Warzone’s latest season has a lot of new content for fans. Our guides to that game can help you make the most out of your remaining time with the Cold War gear:
