Epic games just released a new game called Solo Showdown Limited Time Mode, for competitive Fortnite players. In short, a temporary game mode with prizes for the top 100. The event itself ends on 05/21 at 10:00 am ET.
Are you getting tired of winning solo games without much effort, want anything more challenging and be rewarded if you do good? Then Solo Showdown might very well be for you! Be the last one standing in this opt-in proving ground for high skilled players. Each player has to play 50 games where you get a different amount of point of how you perform, for example placing 1st will give you 100 points, 2nd 94 points and so on. The top 100 players at the end of the event will get prices containing V-Bucks.
If you do 50 games and don’t get in the placements, you still will receive a unique spray. However, the one who will take the 1st place will get a big 50,000 V-Bucks!

The awards:
1st Place: 50,000 V-Bucks
2nd – 4th Place: 25,000 V-Bucks
5th – 50th Place: 13,500 V-Bucks
51st – 100th Place: 7,500 V-Bucks
So what are you waiting for? If you want to test your skills that you’ve built up or improving against some of the best fortnite players, there is, here’s your chance. One thing Fortnite has been lacking is competitive game modes or an official tournament. This could very well be the first step in that dirrection; also Epic announced that next week they would give significant news about competitive play.
