The year 2020 surely belongs to some of the best open-world games and we couldn’t be more excited. This year, developers like Ubisoft, CD Projekt, and Sony are bringing a lot of good stuff that we’ll definitely enjoy. And with the announcement of PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X, gamers are now more hyped than ever. Some pretty sweet AAA open-world games will be dropping this year. But which one of them are we the most excited about? Read on and you’ll find out because we’ll be counting down our picks for best upcoming open-world games coming this year.
Watch Dogs Legion
Ubisoft is not holding back this year and releasing some pretty awesome open-world games. After the success of Watch Dogs 1 and 2, Ubisoft is all set to launch the 3rd installment in the WatchDog franchise. Watch Dogs Legion will be dropping out at some time this year. Similarly, Watch Dogs Legion is an open-world hacking game situated in London where you’ll be playing as Dedsec agents. Yes, you’ll be controlling multiple characters in this game. Ubisoft earlier released a gameplay video of Watch Dogs Legion. It is everything that you’ll want from an open-world game based in London.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
The second installment in the Marvel’s Spider-man series, Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be launching this year on PlayStation5. This game will be a PS5 exclusive and will probably be released at the end of this year. It is not yet confirmed if this one will be available on PS4 but fans are hopeful. Spider-Man: Miles Morales is also one of the most anticipated open-world games that will be releasing this year. If you’ve seen Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse then you’re probably familiar with the main character of the game and his storyline.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Get ready to have the time of your life because you’ll be returning to the Viking age where you’ll be going against the famous King Alfred. You’ll be controlling the protagonist, Eivor and you will also have the choice to choose the gender of your character. You and your fellow Vikings will raid Saxon villages and conquer their castles to acquire land for settlements across the country. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be dropping on November 17, 2020, and we couldn’t be more excited about this one.
Gods & Monsters
Since the reveal at E3 2019, gamers are very hyped and eagerly waiting to get their hands on Gods & Monsters. This game is developed by Ubisoft and it is also an action/adventure open-world game that is also releasing this year. Ubisoft has a lot to offer this year but they’re mostly focusing on AC Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion and that’s why they haven’t shared much about this game. Skull & Bones was also supposed to release early this year but it seems like Ubisoft is taking things slow for a while. We haven’t heard about Gods & Monsters since the E3 but we’re really looking forward to getting our hands on this one. Gods & Monsters will be launching sometime this year but the official release date is still not confirmed yet.
Cyberpunk 2077
The long-awaited futuristic game from CD Projekt, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally coming this year. Cyberpunk 2077 is played in the first-person perspective and set in the future. The main protagonist, V will be going against the system to find the dark secrets and the key to immortality. It was supposed to release a very long time ago but developers had to delay the game many times because they thought that the game needed more time to cook. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the best and the most anticipated open-world game of 2020 and it will be available on November 19th, 2020 in the stores near you.
