Customizing Your Legend
Let’s face it, we all like customizing our avatars. It’s what makes us unique in the digital world. From our player characteristics to our apparel and weapon skins, these items let us be someone within the game. One this is certain, Apex Legends cosmetics and customization are going to play a large role in this game’s future.
Famous Twitch Streamers like The Doc, Shroud, and Ninja have custom skins made for them in collaboration with studios. I’m guessing it’s only a matter of time before Apex Legends creates such cosmetics and partnerships.
Add in the fact that these cosmetics are a large revenue driver for ‘freemium’ games and you can expect Apex Legends to pump out new cosmetics regularly, similar to Fortnite.
What Types of Cosmetics Will be Available?
Continuing along the same lines as other BR’s, Apex Legends will offer weapon skins, finishing emotes and Legend skins. They will also be offering Banner Frames and Banner Pose skins. Banners are something unique to Apex Legends. Essentially there are large banners around the Arena and interacting with the banners can help revive fallen teammates. How and Where to Get Cosmetics?
Apex Packs
The first place to get cosmetics is through the Apex Packs. These are similar to PUBG crates. Items will be randomly rewarded. Apex Crates can be earned through leveling up your player or by purchasing them using the in game currency, Apex Coins.
Apex Legends Battle Passes
Similar to Fortnite Battle Passes, these will allow players to access challenges and Battle Pass specific cosmetics. You can purchase Battle Pass’ with Apex Coins.
Rotating Shop
The Rotating Shop is the premier place to spend your Apex Coins. On top of that, you will be able to spend your Legend Tokens (earned by leveling up your player) as well. In the Rotating Shop, you’ll find exclusive Legend Skins colors, Weapon skins and more. As the name suggests, the items will rotate frequently, so check back often for the latest and greatest.
What are the Different Apex Legends Currencies?
Legend Tokens
Legend Tokens are earned by leveling up your player. It’s possible to continue earning Legend Tokens even after you’ve earned the highest level. Use them in the Rotating Shop.
Apex Coins
Apex Coins are the primary in-game currency. They can be used in the Rotating Shop, to buy Battle Passes and Apex Packs. Once new Legends become available, those will be purchasable as well.
Crafting Metals
Crafting metals are used in conjunction with other crafting metals to create cosmetics. You can get crafting metals from Apex Packs.
