Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 is a breath of fresh air for the game, and it has come with a lot of different weapons. There are some new additions to the game and the Mythic weapons have seen a complete revamp. We’ve been left with a completely new balance of weapons. If you’re still searching out your old loadout, you’ve got to change things up for the Fortnite Season 4 weapons. This new Season throws out a lot of old rules, so you’ve got to know how the weapons have changed and what the new ones mean for the game.
This Fortnite Season 4 weapons guide covers everything you need to know about the season. This is what’s been unvaulted, vaulted, added in new, and even the Mythic weapons that are currently about. There have been some key unvaulted weapons introduced this time around. There are also more complicated mythic weapons to get your head around this time. This is everything you need to know.
Fortnite Season 4 Weapons Guide
What are the Unvaulted Weapons in Fortnite?
While new weapons are always interesting, the unvaulted weapons count just as much. These are the Fortnite Season 4 weapons that you’ve likely already used quite a bit! Some old favorites have come back this time; this is what you can find:
- Pump Shotgun
- Combat Shotgun
- Supressed Submachine Gun
- Tactical Submachine Gun
- Revolver
- Boogie Bomb
- Shockwave Grenade
- Port-a-Fort
- Bandage Bazooka
- Scoped Assault Rifle
- Light Machine Gun
These weapons make the bulk of the new content this time around! These make a big difference though, and we’ll cover how they should be used. The extra shotguns particularly make a big difference. The addition of shockwaves, port-a-forts, and boogie bombs really expand that ‘extra’ section of your loadout.
What Was Vaulted in Fortnite Season 4?
This is everything that got taken away in the Fortnite Season 4 weapons update! A fair amount of stuff is gone, so don’t go looking for any of this:
- Tactical Shotgun
- Pistol
- Rapid Fire SMG
- Submachine Gun
- Hunting Rifle
- Launch Pad
- Flare Gun
- Stink Bomb
- Decoy
New Weapons in Fortnite Season 4
What are the new weapons in Fortnite season 4? There were less brand new additions this time around, but this is everything that was added in Season 4:
- Stark Industries Energy Rifle
- Pro Fishing Rod
- Fire Trap
- Silver Surfer’s Board
- Groot’s Ball
- Doom’s
- Doom’s
On top of those items currently in the game, we’ve had some leaks about the rest of the Mythic items for the season. The Fortnite Season 4 weapons had a few less than the last few versions of Fortnite, so these weapons are probably coming sooner than later:
- Jump Smash
- Fist (Hulk)
- Berserker Dash
- Spin Slash
- Tornado Jump
- Sky Strike
- Repulsor Cannon
- Kinetic Absorption
Some of these new Fortnite season 4 weapons we’ve even seen in the Season’s trailer, so we can be sure that they are coming soon.
How Do You Get Fortnite Mythic Weapons in Season 4?
The Mythic Fortnite Season 4 weapons work similarly to in previous Seasons. Although, this time there is a second way to get them. Some of them come from killing a boss like previously and some come from a new method. We’re unsure how to get those that aren’t in the game yet, and we’ll have to see if they come with a boss or not.
- Silver Surfer’s Board and Groot’s Ball – You can get these two weapons by landing by a Quinjet and shooting done a loot drone. Which you get is random, but you don’t have to take down a Boss for these. These spots are guarded by standard NPCs, which carry the Stark energy rifle.
- Dr. Doom’s Weapons – You can get these by killing the Dr. Doom Boss in Doom’s Domain. Which of them that you will get is randomized, so you can’t bank on getting your preferred choice this time.
This is a much simpler approach to mythic weapons than we’ve previously seen. This time around we’ve got a few items that multiple players can grab, and the landing spots to get them are randomized rather than having some overpowered landing spot. This opens things up when you’re looking for the best landing spots in Fortnite Season 4.
Fortnite Season 4 Weapons – Full Guide
The Fortnite Season 4 weapons are quite diverse compared to what we’ve previously seen in Chapter 2. There is a lot more to think about with them and a lot of different things competing for space in your loadout. It helps to know their stats and how they measure up against each other. This guide covers the full details of all of the Fortnite Season 4 weapons.
Assault Rifles – Fortnite Season 4 Weapons
Assault Rifles come in a few different varieties, we’ve even had the return of the scope this time around! These are the full stats so you can decide which mid-range weapon to take.

Shotguns – Fortnite Season 3 Weapons
The shotguns in Fortnite Season 4 have seen a major change. Last season’s big new addition has stayed, and the old Tactical has been removed. We’ve got a few others introduced to balance things back out though. This is what you need to know about each of them.
Charge Shotgun
- Grey – The grey Charge Shotgun has a DPS of 68, 80 damage, 0.85 fire rate, and a magazine size of 3. It takes 4.8 seconds to reload.
- Green – This one has a DPS of 72.25, 85 damage, fire rate of 0.85, magazine size of 3, and a reload time of 4.6.
- Blue – This one has a DPS of 76.5, damage of 90, fire rate of 0.85, magazine size of 3, and a reload time of 4.4
- Purple – The purple Charge Shotgun has a DPS 79.9, damage of 94, fire rate of 0.85, magazine size of 4, and a reload time of 4.2.
- Orange – This one has a DPS of 83.3, damage of 98, fire rate of 0.85, magazine size of 4, and a reload time of 4.
Since last the season, the Charge has had a few tweaks. The main one being a slower reload time. Nothing that ruins its power, but it’s something to keep in mind.
Pump Shotgun
- Grey – The grey has a DPS of 49, damage of 70, fire rate of 0.7, magazine size of 5, and a reload time of 5.7.
- Green – This has a DPS of 56, damage of 80, fire rate of 0.7, magazine size of 5, and a reload time of 5.3.
- Blue – This has a DPS of 63, 90 damage, 0.7 fire rate, magazine size of 5, and a reload time of 4.8.
- Purple – The purple Pump does 70 DPS, 100 damage, 0.7 fire rate, magazine size of 5, and reload time of 4.4.
- Orange – This one has a DPS of 77, 110 damage, fire rate of 0.7, 5 magazine size, and a reload time of 4.
Combat Shotgun
- Blue – This has a DPS of 85, damage of 50, fire rate of 1.7, magazine size of 8, and a reload time of 5.3
- Purple – The purple Combat has a DPS of 90.1, damage of 53, fire rate of 1.7, magazine size of 8, and a reload time of 5.
- Orange – This one has a DPS of 93.5, damage of 55, fire rate of 1.7, magazine size of 8, and a reload time of 4.7.
Any of the shotguns in the game will do fine in close combat if you can’t find your preferred. The Charge Shotgun remains a bit of a hassle. If you can master it, then it can be a really useful weapon. Many players just prefer not to engage with it! The Combat Shotgun was an old classic, and it’s probably the one to look for in-game if you’ve been playing long enough to really know how to use it.
Machine Guns – Fortnite Season 4 Weapons Guide
Machine Guns have seen a pretty wide expansion in the Fortnite Season 4 weapons! These are all of the machine guns that you can find at the moment.
Suppressed Submachine Gun
- Grey – This has a DPS of 156, damage of 20, fire rate of 7.8, magazine size of 30, and a reload time of 2.2.
- Green – The green Sub has a DPS of 163.8, damage of 21, fire rate of 7.8, magazine size of 30, and a reload time of 2.1.
- Blue – The DPS here is 171.6, damage of 22, fire rate of 7.8, magazine size of 30, and a reload time of 2.
Tactical Submachine Gun
- Green – This one has a DPS of 162, damage of 18, fire rate of 9, magazine size of 25, and a reload time of 2.2
- Blue – The DPS of this weapon is 171, damage of 19, fire rate of 9, magazine size of 25, and a reload time of 2.1.
- Purple – This has a DPS of 180, damage of 20, fire rate of 9, magazine size of 25, and a reload time of 2.
- Orange – The DPS here is 189, damage is 21, fire rate of 9, magazine size of 25, and a reload time of 1.9.
Light Machine Gun
- Blue – This weapon has a DPS of 200, damage of 25, fire rate of 8, magazine size of 100, and a reload time of 5.
- Purple – The purple Light Machine Gun has a DPS of 208, damage of 26, fire rate of 8, magazine size of 100, and a reload time of 4.7.
These are a lot of returning weapons to the game. Each has a fairly similar application so the choice between sub and tactical is largely personal preference. The light machine however is something pretty different. This could make a decent substitution for the assault rifle if you prefer it!
Pistol – Fortnite Season 3 Weapons Guide
There’s now a second pistol as part of the Fortnite Season 4 weapons. The new revolver has its fans, but it isn’t really all that essential. Either pistol will do in the early game, but neither are as effective as other types of weapons further into games.
- Grey – DPS of 162, damage of 24, fire rate of 6.75, magazine size of 16, and a reload time of 1.5.
- Green – This Pistol has a DPS of 168.75, damage of 25, fire rate of 6.75, magazine size of 16, and a reload time of 1.5.
- Blue – This one has a DPS of 175.5, damage of 26, fire rate of 6.75, magazine size of 16, and a reload time of 1.4.
- Purple – This Pistol has a DPS of 189, damage of 28, fire rate of 6.75, magazine size of 16, and a reload time of 1.3.
- Orange – This one has a DPS of 195.75, damage of 29, fire rate of 6.75, magazine size of 16, and a reload time of 1.3.
Revolver
- Purple – The DPS of this Revolver is 94.5, damage of 63, fire rate of 1.5, magazine size of 6, and a reload time of 1.9.
- Orange – This one has a DPS of 99, damage of 66, fire rate of 1.5, magazine size of 6, and a reload time of 1.9.
The Revolver does great damage, especially for a pistol. The whole pistol drawbacks do work against it though.
Rifles – Fortnite Season 3 Weapons Guide
While the hunting Rifle has been removed from the game, the new addition of a Rifle is a big part of the new Fortnite weapons balance. This is what you need to know about the snipers and other rifles in the game at the moment:
Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
- Blue – This has a DPS of 34.65, damage of 105, fire rate of 0.33, magazine size of 1, and a reload time of 3.
- Purple – The Purple Sniper has a DPS of 36.3, damage of 110, fire rate of 0.33, magazine size of 1, and a reload time of 2.5.
- Orange – This has a DPS of 38.28, damage of 116, fire rate of 0.33, magazine size of 1, and a reload time of 2.3.
Energy Rifle
- Blue – This has a DPS of 162.8, damage of 37, fire rate of 4.4, magazine size of 15, and a reload time of 3.
- Purple – The Purple Energy Rifle has a DPS of 171.6, damage of 39, fire rate of 4.4, magazine size of 15, and a reload time 2.85.
- Orange – This has a DPS of 180.4, damage of 41, fire rate of 4.4, magazine size of 15, and a reload time of 2.7.
These rifles both really serve a different purpose. If you’re a skilled sniper in-game, then the Bolt Action is going to be a must for you. The energy rifle is closer to a hunting, if one with a slightly more generous set of stats. It’s worth picking this up even if you’re not normally a sniper.
Grenades and Other – Fortnite Weapons Guide
Rocket Launcher
- Purple – This has a DPS of 86.25, damage of 115, fire rate of 0.75, magazine size of 1, and a reload time of 3.1.
- Orange – This Rocket Launcher has a DPS of 97.5, damage of 130, fire rate of 0.75, magazine size of 1, and a reload time of 2.5.
The rocket launcher is pretty vital to taking down builds, especially in the late game. Most of the alternatives from last season have been vaulted, so it is definitely worth grabbing if you find one.
Boogie Bomb
The Boogie Bomb works simply, you throw it and everyone in the AOE starts dancing involuntarily. If you’ve been hit by one it is rage-inducing, but it can force other players to become an easy target for a few seconds. What’s really useful about this is how many you can stack. If you can get a full stack of these then it can be a game-changer later in the game. Unfortunately, the absence of Launchpads makes them a bit harder to use to break out of box fights.
What Fortnite Season 4 Weapons Should You Use?
The Fortnite season 4 weapons are a really diverse bunch. It is more difficult to pin down an exact formula for your overall loadout compared with past Seasons of the game. You might have to adjust what you carry a bit more depending on what you need. This is a good example of what you should try to find in each though:
- Short Range Weapon – This is usually a shotgun and the Fortnite Season 4 weapons haven’t changed the balance much from that. SMGs can work here too, but a Shotgun is going to be an easier choice.
- Mid Range Weapon – An Assault Rifle of some kind is absolutely essential. You can substitute it in for the energy rifle if you’re confident with that though.
- Specialist Item – This is a slot you can set aside for either throwables or a sniper rifle wherever you can get one.
- Explosives or Building Counter – Boogie Bombs, Port-a-Forts, or rocket launchers are great choices for your last slot.
This is a solid loadout if you can find everything that you need in a game, the last slot is for a healing item. Our other guides to Fortnite can help you with other parts of Season 4.
