Vaulted weapons
- Bolt-action Sniper Rifle
- Burst Rifle
- Heavy Shotgun
- SMG : Common, Uncommon, and Rare
Surprisingly, Epic has decided to vault the bolt-action sniper and SMG. These were considered fan-favorite weapons and players are already venting it out on social media.

On a slightly happier note, the “Suppressed SMG” has been un-vaulted and reintroduced into the mix.
NEW ITEM: Chiller Grenade
This is a fun new item that can be used on both players and ground vehicles. As per Epic’s patch notes post, here is how the grenade comes into play.
Allies, enemies, and vehicles hit with the Chiller Grenade will slip around with icy feet/wheels for a duration of 7 seconds.
This has pretty much the same effects of the Chiller Trap except that now you can throw it on vehicles and have them sliding around in chaos. This grenade is the only “new item game-play” footage we’d be seeing this week as there are no other “new” items being introduced.
Controller Update for Supporting Mobile Devices
This is the biggest change Epic has brought in the 7.3 update. Mobile devices that support Bluetooth controllers can now use the same feature in-game.
Mobile Controller support
Android: most of Bluetooth controller adapters, such as Steelseries Stratus XL, Gamevice, XBox1, Razer Raiju, and Moto Gamepad.
iOS: MFi controllers, such as Steelseries Nimbus and Gamevice.
Disabled phone vibration if a gamepad attached
Xbox one owners have the advantage of pairing their joystick straight to a Fortnite supported Android device. This bridges a major game-play gap between console and mobile devices. Surely, various other improvements to this feature are coming in soon.=
Solid Gold LTM Mode Re-introduced!
The “All weapons – Gold” mode is back. All weapons are gold in this mode and extra material is given while farming brick or metal.
Unlike certain LTM modes, in this edition stats are tracked and a Victory Royale reflects in your account.
A New In-game Tournament Event “Architect Pop-up Cup” Coming Soon
In the previous few weeks, Epic has been testing various features and not everyone was impressed by it. They are now using this tournament to test a feature which might be implemented later this season.
While participating in the “Architect Pop-Up Cup” players will be able to edit structures built by anyone including their opponent’s structures. Players who have been practicing their edits need not destroy opponent walls and build a wall of their own for them to “edit and shoot”.
Epic will use this tournament as a testing ground and have asked all it’s players to use the feedback option to post their opinions of what they think about this new feature. Make sure you drop-in for the tournaments to get a feel of this “All-edit” feature before it enters the actual game.
