Fortnite’s map goes through a lot of changes throughout seasons, but some POIs always stay strong in the mind of players. There are certain Fortnite map hotspots where a lot of players land, and a lot of deaths take place. It can be helpful to know where these spots are, if you’re looking to grind elims in Arena or just polish up on your firefighting skills. So where exactly do you head? Tilted is partially back in the game, but has that been enough to drag all players back to one spot?
Some particularly helpful Fornite fans got together to try and figure this one out. They collected data and charted on a map the spots that see the most deaths in Fortnite. These spots see more deaths, so players looking for action should probably head to these spots. While the most dangerous, they are also the best for getting kills. to frequent to fet more kills in Fortnite. With this information, you’d have a good area of where to go if you’re looking for pure combat. It is also an interesting look at how the map works, and how some POIs remain popular and dangerous despite the constant changes to the game’s world.

This is the Fortnite map hotspots that was made by users’ research.
The biggest takeaway is probably the overriding deathzone that is Salty Towers. Salty Springs become an important POI in Chapter 2. It has remained a great landing spot, throughout a lot of seasons and changes. It became the spot to land if you’re looking for ealy firefights. Even if it didn’t really have enough loot to make that a worthwhile move. The POI has since merged with the old Tilted Towers. Combining the two hottest drop spots of the two maps into one location. It is the place to go for high kills. This has probably helped the POI stay dangerous, and one of the best landing spots in Chapter 2
The other main Fortnite map hotspots are Pleasant Park and Lazy Lake. Both of these are the next major POIs after Salty. Pleasant Park has recently been a central POI to a Season’s theme, so that likely helped it rack up the numbers. Lazy Lake is pretty much a constant, but clearly there’s no need to mess with a classic. The other big POIs have more minor representation on this map. One of the bigger surprises though is just how popular a new POI has become, the Stealthy Stronghold.
Part of this POIs appeal is probably its boss; the Fortnite Predator with an item that makes you invisible. Otherwise though, it has clearly excited players a lot more than the standard POIs do.
What Does This Mean for Where You Drop?
Looking at this heatmap, it really narrows the deathspots down to three. Pleasant Park, Salty Towers, and Lazy Lake. Of course the bus route has an effect, but these three are central enough to nearly always be accessible in the route of the bus. If you’re looking to get some combat in, then these Fortnite map hotspots are the clear winners for where you should drop.
If you’re looking for a quieter early game though, this map can be even more useful. The entire north-east of the map is relatively low on death volume. This is usually represented in games too, that area is hardly bouncing with players in most rounds. The top left of the map has similar problems. However, landing there causes real issues for rotation since the addition of Coral Castle.
So if you’re looking for a quieter game, those two areas are clearly starting points. Looking to die really early and not get any loot? Hit up Salty! That Fortnite map hotspot is one of the funnest places to land, but in terms of loot and risk it clearly isn’t great. This map can help you see where the priorities are for landing, but also illustrate a bit about how fortnite has changed. While new POIs bring in attention like Stealthy Stronghold, it seems the most popular spots are rarely replaced, even as events drag interest to different areas.
